IHPI has cultivated several research networks within the greater IHPI community. Currently, these research networks are focused on Aging, Health Equity, Telehealth, and Value/Appropriateness, with additional topic areas under exploration based on member interest.
Aging Research Network
Building on the success of the National Poll on Healthy Aging, in fall 2021 IHPI launched the Aging Research Network to help connect a wide range of IHPI members doing work that impacts the lives of older adults, including research on Medicare, long-term care, health care utilization, and health conditions that particularly affect people later in life. Members share and receive announcements about resources, events, policy engagement opportunities, and funding opportunities related to aging research. The group may also organize aging-focused seminars or other events to promote collaboration among members.

Telehealth Research Network
Launched in 2020, the Telehealth Research and Policy Initiative leverages collective expertise from U-M researchers and clinicians and uses novel approaches to improve healthcare access, enhance the patient experience, and reduce costs. The goal of the Telehealth Research Network is to catalyze and amplify research on telehealth and health information technology.
We encourage all IHPI members whose research involves telehealth, e-health, mobile health, remote patient monitoring, or other health information technologies to join the network, where we share members’ research, relevant events and funding, and collaboration opportunities. The group may also organize telehealth-focused seminars or other events to promote collaboration among members.

Michigan Program on Value Enhancement (MPrOVE) Research Network
The Michigan Program on Value Enhancement (MPrOVE) brings together experts from IHPI and across U-M's health system to design and evaluate innovative projects that improve value and right-size clinical services at Michigan Medicine and beyond. The MPrOVE Research Network connects IHPI members whose research focuses on value, care appropriateness, and innovation, fostering collaborations, sharing information, and building bridges between research and practice.

Health Equity Networks
The IHPI Workforce Diversity & Health Equity initiative was launched in 2020 and focused on ways to increase innovation and research through diverse leadership and creating equity-driven health and healthcare policies to improve health for all members of society. The network includes members from the initiative workgroups, as well as IHPI researchers and U-M and Michigan Medicine partners leveraging research to advance health equity at the university and at local, state, and federal policy levels.

The new LGBTQ+ Health Research Network, launched in February 2024 in collaboration with faculty from the School of Public Health, School of Nursing, and Medical School Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Section of Plastic Surgery, aims to bring researchers together, to catalyze new collaborations and amplify ongoing work.
